New Year’s 2022

A FEAST FOR GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FORTUNE

Many years ago, I attended a New Year's party where the host served black eyed peas and a mouth watering filet. The filet was marinated for 24-48 hours in a secret marinade and then patiently roasted at 225 degrees. The result was melt in your mouth to die for. Guests were also treated to black eyed peas, a Southern tradition for good luck.

While researching this post, I found this CNN story on New Year’s traditions from around the world. The underlying theme seems to be: pork and beans, lentils or peas for good luck and good fortune.

Ready to create a New Years feast of good luck and fortune? I found this Black Eyed Pea recipe on the Food Network.   It’s pretty easy and very tasty. Serve with rice or a protein dish.
